Ruddington Vets

Do NOT use this vets it is appalling and lacks all compassion. They are heartless. I took a stray cat into the Ruddington Vets a couple of weeks ago it was seriously injured. When I called later to fund out if it was ok the dreadful and pitiless receptionist refused to tell me if it was even alive or dead. This caused me huge distress. I spoke to a cats charity and several other vets who agreed this was cruel because the cat did not have a microchip therefore no owner so there was no reason not to tell me. I went to the vets and one vet told me the cat had been saved and would be given to a cat rescue place. The receptionist said she was told not to tell me whether the cat was ok by a vet but she seemed gleeful and plain nasty when she refused to tell me. It is a totally money driven vets and does not care remotely for animals let alone people. In my opinion the way I was treated was unforgiveable. I just wanted to know if I'd saved this poor cat's life and they didn't have the basic kindness or decency to tell me that. I have just been in again and one of the staff was dishonest again fobbing me off saying it had been rehomed. Since when do vets rehome? He also refused to tell me the name of the cats rescue home it allegedly went to - if it even did. I do not believe they told me the truth. I plead with you I am perceptive about people this vets practice is utterly heartless and compassionless and you should not take your precious pet to them. People who hate animals should not work with them. This is a deeply uncaring vets. When I called in recently the guy stuttered and claimed the vet rehomed the cat - vets do not rehome. Please please do not trust this place. They have left a disingenuous response. There was absolutely NO reason they couldn't have told me when I first called that the cat was alive or dead. I pleaded with the receptionist and she was cold and callous. Please do NOT use this vets. Also a cat rescue charity called them and he got the same response rudeness and coldness and an absolute refusal to even say the basic fact whether it was alive or not. Look at their response - trying to fob me off. Well it won't work. The downright nastiness of that receptionist beggered belief and of the vet who backed her up is unforgiveable when I simply CARED about a suffering animal.

Only vets in Nottingham with a heart. Sadly I found a badger in my garden today who was sick and had been hit by a car. Rang the rspca, badger societies and 10 vets. Only ones who offered to come out and help the poor creature was Ruddington vets. Had my own pets registered here for years and they’ve frankly always been great but really went above and beyond today, sadly the badger had to be put down but at least they compassionately showed up and eased her pain. Would recommend them before and recommend more now. Thanks guys RIP Oreo

Lovely vets just wish if you have to keep returning every two days for check up for ongoing treatment/recovery checks you didn't have to keep paying £60 each time as it becomes very,very expensive. No suggestions to offer a cheaper way

Absolutely shocking place. Quoted me £2,000 to have my two small dogs teeth cleaned. When I queried the cost I was told I didn’t have to have everything on the quote. The only item I could consider not having was an X-Ray, but then they wouldn’t know the root cause of the dental issues, and I would therefore end up going back which would cost more money. It’s recently been in the news about Vets extorting people in the UK. And this Vet is no different. I took one of my dogs for a checkup last week and they charged be nearly £70 for 5 minutes. I just think it’s morally wrong of them. When I called, the ‘nurse assistant’ I spoke to was patronising and rude. I just won’t return to this cowboy vets again. And I won’t bring up about them murdering my mums dog a couple of years ago as that’s a whole new story of their neglect and immoral policies. It’s funny how these people enter in to the profession because they ‘love animals’ and they ‘care’ - but then feel comfortable putting people in a difficult situation when you have to either let your animal suffer, die or suffer yourself financially. It’s high time the government regulated them and stopped them from robbing people who would like some affordable basic care for their pets. Shame on all of you!

Hannah and the team really have looked after my Bellatrix, shes absolutely got a new lease of life now she’s on medication for her new diagnosis and i cant thank Hannah enough. Adopting Bella as an older cat and not having any of her medical history felt like torture because of the unknown we were facing but we were kept well informed and were told all the possible outcome/ treatment routes and my little superstar Bella is so so so much better. Thank you SO much (& for bearing with Bella’s spicy-ness during her follow up blood tests, she’s thankful I swear!) See you in 3 months for blood tests round 2 check up!
